Whether for a carport, a terrace cover, or as a light strip in a hall: our translucent sheets bring brightness and protection together. Choose from robust polycarbonate, crystal-clear acrylic, or economical PVC. Available to match all common trapezoidal profiles or as classic corrugated sheets.
The Great Translucent Sheet Guide: Which Material Suits You?
The selection of plastics is vast. To help you find what you need quickly, we explain the differences between the materials.
🛡️ Polycarbonate (PC)
"The Indestructible"
Polycarbonate is extremely impact-resistant and virtually unbreakable. It is the ideal material if you are looking for protection against hail or if the sheets need to be robust.
- ✅ High hail resistance
- ✅ Heat resistant up to 120°C
- ✅ Available in trapezoidal & corrugated shapes
💎 Acrylic (PMMA)
"The Brilliant"
Acrylic is visually almost indistinguishable from real glass. It offers the highest light transmission and does not yellow even after years. Perfect for terraces.
- ✅ Best aesthetics (glass-like)
- ✅ Highest UV stability
- ✅ Very rigid and premium feel
💰 PVC (Ondex/Sollux)
"The Price Tip"
PVC is the economical solution for sheds or simple covers. Our "Ondex" sheets are surprisingly impact-resistant thanks to biaxial stretching.
- ✅ Budget-friendly price
- ✅ Chemically resistant (ammonia)
- ✅ Ideal for agriculture
Matching Your Metal Roof: Trapezoidal Translucent Profiles
Do you already have a metal roof and want to let light in? Our translucent sheets for trapezoidal metal are precisely matched to the geometry of our steel and aluminum profiles. Whether it's Profile 18, Profile 35, or corrugated – we have the matching light panel.
Advantage: You can simply place the translucent sheet between the metal sheets. The overlap seals perfectly. No complicated flashing or frame construction required!
Frequently Asked Questions about Translucent Sheets
Attention: Plastic expands when heated! Always drill the holes approx. 3-4 mm larger than the screw shaft (use a step drill). Paint the top of the wooden purlins with white paint or use aluminum adhesive tape to avoid heat accumulation ("magnifying glass effect").
