Drip Flashings & Base Profiles
Drip Flashings – Effective Protection of Wall Cladding Against Moisture
Our drip flashings – also known as base flashings or sill profiles – are indispensable components for durable and functional wall cladding.
They reliably prevent rainwater or condensation from getting behind the wall panels and direct the water specifically away from the facade.
In this way, drip flashings contribute significantly to the protection of the substructure and the masonry – especially with metal facades made of trapezoidal or panel sheets.
Function and Application
Drip flashings are mounted at the lower finish of wall cladding and ensure that running water drips off to the outside in a controlled manner instead of running along the facade or penetrating the wall.
They are particularly suitable for:
-
Wall cladding made of trapezoidal sheets
-
Facade panels and metal cladding
-
Base finishes for industrial and warehouse buildings
-
Carports, fences, or metal wall coverings
Thus, drip flashings not only protect against moisture penetration but also extend the lifespan of the entire wall construction.
Variants at a Glance
-
Standard Drip Flashing (2 m):
Ideal for classic wall cladding, garden sheds, or smaller construction projects. Prevents rainwater from penetrating behind the sheets.
-
Large Drip Flashing (2 m):
With a reinforced drip edge – recommended for industrial buildings, high facade areas, or highly exposed exterior walls. Leads the water further away from the wall and protects reliably even during heavy rain.
Both variants are available in 2 m lengths, with a cover length of approx. 1.93 m when overlapping. Custom dimensions up to 6 m length can be manufactured individually upon request.
Materials and Coatings
Our drip flashings are made of high-quality sheet steel and are available in various durable coatings:
- Aluzinc
- Standard Polyester (25 µm)
- Matt Coarse-Grain Polyester (35 µm)
- PURLAK® (50 µm) / PURMAT® (50 µm)
These surfaces provide permanent protection against corrosion, UV radiation, and mechanical stress.
Advantages of Our Drip Flashings
- Protection against moisture and water buildup behind the facade
- Effective water drainage via the drip edge
- Available in Standard and Large versions
- Suitable for wall cladding made of trapezoidal sheets, panels, or standing seam
- Durable coatings for optimal corrosion protection
- Custom fabrications up to 6 m length possible
- Harmonious color matching with wall profiles
Installation Notes
Drip flashings are mounted at the bottom edge of the wall cladding – above the base area or foundation. The overlap between the sheets is 5–10 cm to ensure tight and clean water guidance. Fastening is done with self-drilling screws in the lower valley of the profile or at the wall finishing profile.
Summary
Our drip flashings ensure a secure, durable, and clean wall finish.
They prevent moisture damage to the facade and substructure and direct water away specifically. Available in various sizes, colors, and coatings – also individually manufactured upon request.
